Hello, my name is Gosia and I’m creator of GM Upcycling Studio.
My adventure with furniture has started when my beloved coffee table got ruined during the house move and I have decided to have a go and paint it. The end result was amazing! Not only I enjoyed it so much, but feedback from friends and family was overwhelming. I have painted few more pieces and discovered that actually it is something I really love to do and my head is full of ideas.

Early summer 2019 I decided to enter Rust Oleum online competition organised by www.makeityours.co.uk. To my surprise, few weeks later I found out that I been announced a runner up in July 2019. This gave me courage to try again and to my surprise I won August 2019 contest.

In June 2020 I have been accepted as House of Upcycling associate, which is very proud moment for me and a massive achievement. House of Upcycling works in partnership with British Institute of Interior Design and holds a portfolio of most interesting and exciting designers and upcyclers in UK.

Another special moment came in 2021, as one of my sideboards was purchased by one of the oldest British handles maker Croffts & Assinder and then featured at their stand at Decorex International show in October 2021.
All my furniture, are upcycled with lots of love and care and it gives me endless pleasure bringing new life to them. My favourite era is Art Deco and my furniture and designs are inspired by this beautiful period. Most satisfying part of working with old furniture, is probably revealing gorgeous wood grain from underneath old varnish, but I also love working with masking tape and to create various designs. I do not use neither stencils, or templates and all my designs are hand painted.
Also, I’m passionate about Interior design, décor and colours. As certified Interior Designer, I can advise on the colour and style choice for any room.
